01About

A journalist and Capitol Hill aide
who became a trial lawyer.

Born and raised in Dallas, Sameer Sadiq Assanie is the proud son of immigrants and an attorney with a real passion for the people he represents. He comes from a family with deep knowledge of personal injury law, and from two places most trial lawyers never pass through: a newsroom and the United States Capitol.

He earned a journalism degree at the University of Texas at Austin, then served as communications director to a senior member of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., with extensive experience across federal, state, and county government. Multiple judicial internships with a long-tenured Dallas County trial judge taught him how the system actually works from the inside.

Every case is a story someone has to believe. Sameer learned to tell them as a journalist, then learned to win them in a Texas courtroom.

Since joining J. Alexander Law, Sameer has overseen and assisted in dozens of cases involving car accidents, 18-wheeler collisions, bicyclists, and pedestrians. He has won judgments for his clients at trial, including results over policy limits, and has successfully argued motions that put his clients in a stronger position. He assists clients in Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, and Sindhi. Away from the practice, he is a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoys writing and photography.
