Left-turn crashes
A driver turning left has to yield to oncoming traffic, and that’s you. So when a vehicle cuts across your path and hits you, it’s almost always their fault. The insurance company will claim you were speeding. To fight that we review skid marks and the damage on your bike to prove how fast you were really going.
Blind spot and lane change crashes
Before changing lanes, a driver has to check for motorcycles. When one drifts over and sideswipes you, they’ll say you were lane splitting or in their blind spot. But the damage usually shows the opposite, their car moving into your lane while you rode straight. We investigate to show exactly where you were.
Dooring crashes
When a parked car’s door swings open right as you ride by, that’s almost always their fault, not yours. But the worst injury usually isn’t the door. It’s getting thrown into the next lane, where a second car hits you.
Getting rear ended at a stop
You’re stopped at a light, and the driver behind you hits you. They’ll call it a minor tap. But on a bike, nothing holds you in place, so even a hit from behind can throw you onto the pavement. The fall is the real injury, not the bump.
Road hazards and gravel
When no other car is involved, everyone assumes you lost control. Through our investigation we will uncover, for example, gravel from a construction crew or a truck that dropped its load.
A crash caused by a defective part
Sometimes the bike itself fails, a blown tire or dead brakes. The whole case comes down to the bike, so once it’s repaired or scrapped, there’s no proof left. We keep it, have an engineer examine the broken part, and check for a recall or other riders it failed on. That puts the fault on the manufacturer, not you.

Northwest Highway, also called Loop 12
This stretch is lined with businesses, all filming the street. So the crash on a quiet road is usually your word against theirs, as is often the case. But most streets here have camera systems, however, sometimes they only have it for a few days.
Greenville Avenue and Ross Avenue
On this nightlife strip, a lot of crashes happen after the last call, when a drunk driver hits you. People think the case ends there. It does not. A bar that overserved an obviously drunk driver shares the blame, and its policy reaches money the driver never had.
The North Dallas arterials, Preston, Coit, and Frankford
These are commuter arterials, full of drivers on autopilot, too many staring at a phone. When one turns into you, the cause is usually distraction, and distraction leaves a trail. These are not abstract figures. TxDOT’s Crash Records Information System counts 713 motorcycle crashes in Dallas County in 2024, and 43 riders killed; one of the highest county totals in Texas. Statewide, TxDOT’s 2024 crash facts report 585 riders killed, and 37 percent of those who died were not wearing a helmet.
The most seriously injured Dallas riders are taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital or Baylor University Medical Center, the city’s Level I trauma centers.
