03Why we do this
Sixth year of school drives in North Texas.
For the 2026 to 2027 school year, the drive runs across four Hibbett stores in Dallas and Fort Worth, and every school-age child who comes gets a backpack. In past years, J. Alexander Law adopted Dunbar Elementary in Dallas and gave every student a backpack and school supplies at Meet the Teacher Night, joined SMU at the Paul L. Dunbar Learning Center for Read Across America and gave every kindergartner a Dr. Seuss book, and provided new laptops to two students heading to the University of Texas at Arlington through the UTA Univision Contigo Scholarship.
Your family pays nothing to take part in any of it. Show up, take a backpack, go get the school year started.
Your kid should walk in on the first day carrying the same bag as everybody else. I grew up in Texas, I served in the Marine Corps, and I practice law twenty minutes from these stores. This is the part of the job I look forward to every August.

Before you come.
The questions parents ask most. If yours isn’t here, call the office and someone will answer it.
Signing up is not required. It tells the team how many backpacks to load for each store, so a sign-up makes it far more likely one is still there when you walk in. Every school-age child present receives a backpack while supplies last.
Yes. Backpacks are handed to school-age children in person at the store. A parent or guardian cannot pick one up on a child’s behalf.
Each giveaway runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Arrive at 10 a.m. The supply at each store is limited to what the team brings that morning.
No. The backpacks are free, nothing has to be bought at Hibbett, and the sign-up form asks for no payment information.
One backpack per school-age child, at one store. Four dates are listed so families across Dallas and Fort Worth can pick the closest address.
Sí. Habrá personal bilingüe en cada tienda, y nuestra oficina contesta en español las 24 horas del día. La mochila es gratis para cada niño en edad escolar presente, hasta agotar existencias.
No. The giveaway is open to any family in Dallas and Fort Worth with school-age children, and signing up does not create an attorney-client relationship with J. Alexander Law Firm. If you were hurt in a wreck and want that looked at separately, our Dallas car accident lawyers review cases for free.
05Before you go
Four Sundays. One backpack per kid.
